Air Jordan 18 has been with us since 2003! This was the first pair of sneakers that Micheal wore when he was playing his second season with the Washington Wizards! The designer behind this incredible model was Tate Kuerbis and even though he used a lot of technology that we saw on Air Jordan 17, he gave AJ XVIII a recognizable design that we all recognize today on the streets! Hidden lace system is the fist thing you notice on the pair of these beauties! The second great thing about the Air Jordan 18 are its air vents and its carbon fiber supporters with zoom air cushioning. From the earlier models, Air Jordan and Nike saw the greatness of their Air Zoom system and the satisfaction of the sneakerheads with it, so they were more than glad to use it on another model of Air Jordan. Tate is a designer who was with Air Jordan right from the start and with Nike since 1995. As the designer said, the inspiration for AJ XVIII came from the Italian race-cars and F1 races, thus the carbon fibers on the shoes. The second detail, bold stitching on the soles, represents elegance of the Italian dress shoes which gives the shoes a perfect combination of power and elegance. Later, the model was retro-ed in 2008!
