The first model of Air Jordan brand was created back in 1984! Air Jordan I was designed by Peter C. Moore and at first, it came in red and black colorway. The prototype of the Air Jordan I was Nike Air Soft, but there were many problems with the officials of the NBA and this model. The rule of 51% was the reason why this prototype was banned. In other words, the shoes did not contain enough white colors on them. After the ban, Nike and Micheal Jordan introduced their first model of Air Jordan I. The first two colorways available were "Chicago" and "Black Toe". Everyone wanted to own a pair of these sneakers and soon enough Air Jordan became one of the most iconic brands in the world! The ban situation was well used in commercial terms which gave a lot of advantage to the brand. Later, many who wore Jordan I were connected with outlaw activities because of their exclusiveness. Air Jordan I became a brand of a brand and it was constantly redesigned in regular and retro edition.
